Rachel’s Bookshelf

My daughter Rachel will turn two on August 2, 2008 and I have just finished a bookshelf that will be for her room.  I found the plans for this project in a great woodworking publication called Woodsmith.  If you are new to the hobby of woodworking, I strongly recommend this publication.  This was a very easy project to build.  I will include a link to this project in my links section.

I will note, I made one change to the plans.  They recommend using a biscuit jointer and glue for assembling the face frame.  I could not justify the $150 price of a biscuit jointer, so I purchased a Kreg pocket hole jig.  I used this jig for all of the major assembly of the bookshelf.

Once I have pictures of the finished bookshelf I will post them for your enjoyment.  If you would like to build this project and you have any questions about it feel free to post any questions you have here, and I will assist you with it.
